For Irene, a Dutch national whose enduring love affair with Granada began in 1996, the city has been a lifelong source of inspiration. What started as a series of cherished visits evolved into a permanent commitment when she made the sun-drenched Andalusian capital her full-time home in 2015. Her passion is a vibrant tapestry woven from the very essence of Granada itself: she possesses a connoisseur’s appreciation for its local wines, a deep affection for the rich tapestry of its cuisine, and an insatiable curiosity for the layers of history etched into its ancient streets.
With over eight years of immersive experience designing and leading curated (tapas) tours, she possess an intimate, street-level knowledge of Spanish gastronomic culture, which she has further developed over the last three and a half years as the proprietor of her own specialty wine store. This unique dual expertise allows her to expertly pair the vibrant, local flavors of Andalusia with their perfect vinous counterparts. Her focus is on showing you the diverse and often undiscovered wines of Spain, with a particular emphasis on indigenous varieties of Granada, providing a genuine taste of the region’s rich culinary and viticultural heritage.
